The cemetery administration of the cemetery operator, Wirtschaftsbetrieb Mainz, must be notified of the erection and any changes to grave markers.
This notification must be accompanied by a statement confirming that the project complies with the applicable cemetery regulations in conjunction with the guidelines set forth in the Technical Guidelines for Grave Markers (TA-Grabmal).
The erection and any modification of gravestones may only be carried out by a specialized company, such as a stonemason.
Please include with your notification the gravestone design, including a floor plan and side view on a scale of 1:20, specifying the material and its finish.
You may begin the project eight weeks after submitting the complete notification. This is contingent upon the cemetery administration of Wirtschaftsbetrieb Mainz not raising any objections during this period regarding a violation of the cemetery bylaws or the TA-Grabmal guidelines.
You may begin the project before the eight weeks have elapsed if the cemetery administration confirms compliance with the applicable cemetery regulations and the Technical Guidelines for Grave Monuments.
You must resubmit the notification if you do not erect or modify the gravestone or other structure within one year of submitting the notification.
