The scientific coordination office was founded in 2019. Its goal was and is to promote Mainz as a center of science and make it (more) attractive for researchers and scientific staff. 

In addition to Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Mainz University Medical Center, and the Helmholtz Institute, the Max Planck Institutes for Polymer Research and Chemistry and the Institute for Molecular Biology are now also affiliated. 

All institutes have contact persons with whom our employees are in very close contact, arrange appointments, and clarify questions regarding residence permits. This not only makes appointments easier, but also enables us to ensure that employment can be taken up more quickly and that the mobility of researchers and their families is guaranteed.
