The bank/finance company or leasing company will send the registration certificate part II or the vehicle registration document to the registration authority. We can only process your request once we have received the registration certificate part II or the vehicle registration document.

To avoid unnecessary trips to the registration authority, you can check whether the registration certificate Part II has been received by the registration authority. To do this, you will need the number of the registration certificate part II. You will find this on the registration certificate part I (vehicle registration document) in field 16. Alternatively, please request this from the bank/financing company or leasing company. Once the requested service has been processed

, the registration authority will return the documents directly to the respective company for a fee.

The registration certificate part II or the vehicle registration document does not need to be presented when de-registering a vehicle or simply changing your address when moving within Mainz.
