Representative for the interests of people with disabilities of the state capital Mainz (Disability Representative)

The Disability Officer supports and promotes equal participation for all people with disabilities within the state capital of Mainz. To this end, he informs citizens, companies, businesses, associations, and other institutions about the special needs of people with disabilities.

Consulting

At the same time, the Disability Officer is the point of contact for all people with disabilities and their families, especially if they are disadvantaged due to their disability. He advises those affected, acting as a guide to the wide range of services available in Mainz.

Inclusion and accessibility

Within the city administration, the disability officer promotes the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities with its specific requirements for inclusion and accessibility.

Representation of interests

He also advocates for the interests and self-determination of people with disabilities. Those affected are the experts in their own field. The Disability Officer is a member of the Advisory Board for the Interests of People with Disabilities and supports the Advisory Board's working groups.
