The department plans and implements urban open spaces and green areas. It develops strategies for open spaces and local recreation facilities and plans and builds the diverse typologies of urban greenery. This includes, for example, parks, green spaces, the banks of the Rhine, district and outdoor sports facilities, outdoor areas of municipal facilities such as schools and day-care centers, playgrounds and roadside greenery.
