In 2005, Jochen Dreissigacker took over the family winery in Bechtheim, which now covers 48 hectares and has been certified organic since 2007. The name Dreissigacker does not stand for lightweights, but for particularly powerful, finely mineral and elegant wines.
Sustainability was also the guiding principle behind the construction of the new facility, which the jury recognized with a Best Of Wine Tourism Award in the category "Sustainability in Wine Tourism." The winery is partially built into the hillside so that the ground provides perfect climate control, while a photovoltaic system on the roof supplies electricity. And the heating is powered by dried pomace. A perfect cycle!
Those interested can take part in regular tours of the renowned winemaking family's new premises.
