The department deals with matters relating to the operation of restaurants and issues bar permits for parties and events. It supervises businesses requiring a permit, e.g. security guards, amusement arcades and gaming devices. This also includes tasks in accordance with the Crafts Code, the Sunday and Public Holidays Act, the Shop Opening Act and the Medical Practices Act. The business registration office accepts registrations, changes and deregistrations of businesses. The special use department approves the use of public areas, e.g. for merchandise stands, advertising toppers, information and sales stands as well as posters and banners.
