Urban planning office
The City Planning Office is responsible for shaping the spatial and transportation development of Mainz, the state capital.
Its goal is to further develop Mainz into a livable, sustainable, and future-proof city while balancing the needs of housing, work, mobility, and the environment.
The Office of Urban Planning’s range of responsibilities is very diverse, extending from citywide and sub-regional urban planning and transportation concepts, plans, and strategies to concrete on-site implementation—such as the design of public squares—the organization of traffic, including signage, and the maintenance of roads and civil engineering structures.
